Most of the young adults in the Tikar & Bamileke land in Cameroon need to obtain vocational skills to become productive member in their communities.
It is our responsibility and moral duty to lift and empower our people and to beautify our homeland for generations to come. We have decided to give back to our people by tracing our long-lost brothers and sisters and reconnect them to the land of their ancestors. This connection will instigate empowerment, betterment and healing for our nation. We are indeed direct descendants of some of the greatest civilizations that the world has ever known.
Economic empowerment for women and children is key for long term sustainable development and change in Africa. Empowerment strategies projects are initiated by Diaspora One Tikar One People with a long-term goal of economic and social well-being for the Tikar & Bamileke people.
Our Partner, Field of Dreams Empowerment Center has an on-going training in the Tikar & Bamileke villages on Vocational Skills and Capacity Building for Women, Children, Young Adults and Men.
Providing Sustainable Development Projects is the answer to better our people in Africa. This is the core vision of Diaspora One Tikar One People in the USA. "Join us to Empower our People in Africa"
We believe that it is better to teach our people how to fish, than to give them plenty of fishes for one day. With the help of Tikars of the Diaspora and in the spirit of giving back to our people, we will build an empowerment centers in the Tikar & Bamileke land and in other areas of Cameroon. The Empowerment Centers will serve as a training center for Vocational skills.
We currently have a hand-on Empowerment Center in the Littoral province in Cameroon. This center is used for teaching, training, equipping, housing and much more. It is a multi-purpose center.
We are assisting in providing organized skills training in science and technology. We also provide substantive support, capacity-building and providing clean water well and solar energy in the village communities.
We are looking for Tikars & Bamilekes in Africa and from the Diaspora who have transferable skills to teach and train our people on how to improve and create marketable entrepreneurial skills that will lead to sustainable development.
Diaspora One Tikar and its committed member and donors have built classrooms in several Tikar villages and will continue to do more. These classrooms have changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of children across rural Tikar communities. Now, our powerful approach has evolved to help build entire groups of schools, giving more children the support and opportunities, they deserve.
Across rural Africa, many children must choose between getting an education and being safe. Without classrooms, they are forced to study under trees, in all weather. They are exposed to the elements, distracted, and unable to learn. For those who do have some shelter, it is often unstable, with holes in the ceiling that let the rain in, leaving children cold and wet, and ruining their work.
These conditions can be so bad that children are forced to drop out of school.
We have built a few wells in the Tikar villages and we will continue to build more. The water crisis is real. It's affecting women, children, families and farmers. Women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa are spending hours a day fetching dirty water which leads to illness and disease, robbing entire communities of their futures. Lack of access to safe water and proper sanitation limits education and food production, it harms health and leads to a cycle of poverty.
We are also partnering with other organization to build wells in different villages in Cameroon.
Our Organization has provided solar power in several rural communities. This is an ongoing project. Solar power provides a free source of electricity with no monthly bills. With solar power the village communities can have 24-hour access to power with no interruptions.
Access to electricity is a basic human right, not a luxury. We believe that solar power is the best way to connect people living in the most remote areas to electricity. By providing access to a renewable source of energy, we have the solution to ensure that the Tikar & Bamileke community development is sustainable.
Diaspora One Tikar has is currently leading a yearly Medical Supplies Project initiative by visiting village clinics and hospitals by to give encouragement and distribute basic medical supplies such as over the counter drugs, gauze, band aids, antiseptics, and much more, to refurbish basic pharmaceutical supplies at each location. We are taking donations for the replacement of some basic surgical tools and equipment, hospital beds and mattresses and a means of transportation for the Medical Doctor on call to assist in responding to medical emergencies.
Our Team witness the devastating conditions of Medical Clinics and Hospitals in several villages. Based on these observations we have decided to build small scale Health Clinics in several villages. The villages have Heath professionals, but lack medical supplies and equipment.
Diaspora One Tikar in Partnership with our Partner Field of Dreams, is supporting two orphanages in Cameroon. Our goal is to provide these children with a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.
We are currently assisting orphanages to become self-sustaining community consisting of a children’s home, orphanage, school, university, training center, women’s shelter, elderly person’s home, place of worship, hospital, library, park, play fields, technology center, shops, and other facilities that help a community to succeed.
Your support and contributions will enable us to build small scale medical centers in several villages, build classrooms for the education of children, build wells of wellness and sanitation purposes. Our goal is to assist in improving intolerable conditions in several villages.
Your generous donation will fund our mission.
